3 Incredible Ways to Use Helichrysum Oil for Tinnitus

If you have a ringing in your ear, you need to know about helichrysum oil for tinnitus. Tinnitus is a common problem that is usually a symptom of an underlying condition. Those living with tinnitus know just how much it can disrupt your daily routine—it is sometimes a constant distraction and wreaks havoc on one’s well-being. The sound may come from only one or both ears and can be soft or loud. Seeking treatment for tinnitus can take on various forms and one treatment that has been particularly effective is the use of essential oils.

Using essential oils for health issues dates back to thousands of years ago. These oils are pure essences extracted from roots, barks, flowers, and leaves of various healing plants. These natural remedies can provide relief for sufferers, allowing them to get back to the things they enjoy and feel more present in their own lives and the lives of their family and friends. Helichrysum oil for tinnitus works by reducing ear ringing because the aromas impact the limbic system (which regulates emotions and memory functions) and pharmacologically relieve anxiety and tension.

Tinnitus can result from head or neck injuries and resulting poor circulation or lymph flow, viral infections and inflammation, including sinus congestion, that damage the tiny hairs in your inner ear. Helichrysum can be used to lessen the intensity of tinnitus. Helichrysum has been used through the ages to promote skin healing and reduce inflammation. Tinnitus can be caused by inflammation in the ears and problems with the nerves in the neck and ears, using helichrysum oil may reduce the inflammation in these areas and may ease the ringing sound heard.

Benefits of Helichrysum Oil

Benefits of Using Helichrysum Oil for Tinnitus

1. Antiinflammatory Properties

The primary cause of tinnitus is inflammation in the ear and/or problem in the nerves of ears and the neck. Using helichrysum oil for tinnitus can help as it reduces the swelling.

2. Detoxification

Helichrysum oil is known to drain excess fluids from the body and prevents the buildup of earwax. Using helichrysum oil for tinnitus can also help open the neck channel so that excess fluids like lymph and blood can drain and relieve pressure that can accumulate near the ears.

3. Improve Circulation

Helichrysum oil can also stimulate circulation, which helps in the relief of tinnitus. Pulsing tinnitus, the result of a problem in blood circulation, benefits greatly from helichrysum oil.

How to Use Helichrysum Oil for Tinnitus

1. Patchouli and Helichrysum Oil for Tinnitus (topical)

  • ¼ cup almond oil

  • 5 drops helichrysum

  • 15 drops patchouli

  • 2 oz amber glass dropper bottle

  • Cotton ball

Directions

  1. Combine all the oils in the glass dropper bottle and shake gently to mix.

  2. To use, place about 1 – 3 drops of the blend on a clean cotton ball and rub this on the rim of your ears, behind ears, along the eustachian tube, ear lobes, sides of neck and temples.

  3. Let it sit for as long as desired (at least 15 minutes)

2. Lavender and Helichrysum Oil for Tinnitus (overnight treatment)

  • 1 drop of helichrysum

  • 1 drop of lavender oil

  • 1/4 tsp olive oil

  • A cotton ball

Directions

  1. Add essential oils to cotton ball

  2. Use cotton ball to soak up 1/4 tsp of olive oil.

  3. Let it soak deep into the cotton ball so you can hold it over the ground and no oil drips – this is to ensure the oil won’t go into your ear which can be dangerous since the purpose of cotton ball application is to allow the healing vapors of the essential oils (not the oil itself) to reach within the ear.

  4. Insert the cotton ball gently in the ear lobe. Do NOT push it into the ear canal. You want to simply place the cotton as a sort of plug in your ear and not make it go inside.

  5. Leave on overnight

3. Frankincense and Helichrysum Oil for Tinnitus (inhalation)

  • A pot of 2 cups of water

  • 1 drop Helichrysum

  • 1 drop frankincense

  • 1 drop lavender

  • A towel

Directions

  1. Boil the pot of water till it gets very steamy.

  2. Carefully remove from heat and place the pot on a table over a place mat.

  3. Now sit in front of the pot and create a tent by putting the towel over your head and enclosing the pot to trap steam.

  4. Allow the essential oil-infused steam to penetrate deep into your ears. If it’s only one ear that’s affected, then let that ear face directly over the steam.

  5. Stop steaming when there’s little to no steam.

  6. You can do this once a day for relief.
