Early last year I found myself going through a spiritual awakening. It was one of the most challenging, but also rewarding experiences of my life. There were moments where I felt completely connected with the world, where I had more clarity than ever before. Other moments were terrifying, feeling like I was being torn apart by energy so powerful it could destroy me at any moment. It put me in touch with old wounds and deep fears, forcing me to confront them through a lens of love and compassion rather than frustration or anger.
During this time, I had a lot of people ask me about my experience and how they could find something similar for themselves. While it can be hard to put into words, here are some signs you might be going through a spiritual awakening:
Signs You’re Going Through A Spiritual Awakening
1. You feel like you’re finally seeing the world clearly for the first time.
Everything seems more vibrant, colorful and alive. You may also start to see through the illusions of society and the ways in which people try to control others. This is a sign that your spiritual eyes are starting to open.
2. You have a strong desire to connect with nature.
You may feel an urge to spend more time outside in nature, and to connect with the earth and the elements. This is because nature is where your soul feels most at home, and it’s a way for you to connect with your spiritual side.
3. You have a stronger sense of intuition.
Your intuition is growing stronger and you’re starting to trust your gut feelings more. This is a sign that you’re becoming more in tune with your spiritual side, and that you’re starting to listen to the guidance of your intuition.
4. You have more empathy for others.
You feel a strong connection with other people and can understand their feelings and struggles. You realize that we’re all one race – the human race – and you start to see everyone as your equal.
5. You have a newfound inner peace.
You feel calmer, more patient, content, grounded and less anxious about small things in life. You no longer get stressed out over trivial matters and you become a lot more easygoing. This is a sign that your spiritual awakening is going well, and that you’re starting to feel connected with the inner peace of the universe.
6. You’ve started researching alternative lifestyles.
You may start looking into different kinds of spirituality, as well as alternate lifestyles such as joining a co-op or the simple living movement. This is because as your spiritual eyes start opening, you also become more aware of how society has been disconnected from nature and from its true human potential.
7. Your relationships have changed for the better.
You realize that our interactions with one another are an expression of our own inner state, and so you start to become more conscious of how you’re treating others and what kind of energy you’re putting out there. This leads to healthier, more loving relationships with others.
8. You have a stronger connection with your higher self.
You’re starting to get in touch with the part of you that is, in essence, pure love and light. As you connect with this part of yourself you start to feel like life is full of abundance and potential.
9. You’re feeling more connected to the universe.
You may have started to feel a strong connection to the universe; it feels like everything is connected through one force or energy and that you’re a part of it all. This is a sign that you’re starting to become spiritually awakened.
If you’re experiencing any of these signs, congratulations – you’re going through a spiritual awakening! It can be a challenging process, but it’s also an incredibly rewarding one.
Here are a few tips on how to embrace and navigate your spiritual awakening:
1. Allow yourself to feel everything that comes up.
When you’re going through a spiritual awakening, it’s normal to experience a wide range of emotions such as confusion, fear, anger, sadness, and joy. Just let yourself feel whatever comes up, without judgment. This is a time for you to explore and experience all of your emotions.
2. Be patient with yourself.
This is a process that takes time, so don’t expect to wake up one day and suddenly have all the answers. Allow yourself to explore and evolve at your own pace.
3. Follow your intuition.
Your intuition will be your guide throughout this process, so learn to trust it. If you’re feeling guidance towards a certain path, or if you’re getting any kind of intuitive downloads, go with it!
4. Connect with nature.
Nature is the perfect place to connect with your spiritual side, so try and spend as much time outdoors as possible. Connecting with the natural world is one of the best ways to calm your mind and embrace your spiritual awakening.
5. Meditate regularly.
Meditating is a great way to stay connected with your higher self, as well as the universe at large. Sit in silence for half an hour every day to allow yourself time to connect with this part of yourself.
6. Practice Yoga and incorporate exercise into your daily routine.
A physical practice such as yoga will help you to become more grounded and present in the physical world. This balance between spirit and matter is important, so make sure you’re keeping both aspects of yourself healthy!
7. Surround yourself with like-minded people (who support you!).
It can be helpful to surround yourself with people who are on the same path, so seek out spiritual communities where you feel comfortable and accepted. If you’re in a toxic environment, it might be time for a change.
9. Be patient with others.
You’ll quickly realize that not everyone is going through a spiritual awakening, and that can be a bit jarring. Try to have patience with those who aren’t going through the same things as you, and remember they’re on their own journey too.
11. Trust in the universe.
Let go of fear and trust that the universe will provide for your needs. You don’t need to worry or stress about the future – just let go and let the universe take care of you.
When you’re going through a spiritual awakening, it’s important to remember that you’re not alone. There are others out there who are experiencing the same thing, and there are people who can support you through this process.
