We are sure you’ve heard the word magnesium before. It turns out, within the body, magnesium is an essential dietary mineral that is great for anxiety and stress. It’s even earned the title “nature’s Valium” and “the original chill pill.”
Magnesium is a macro-mineral. Simply put, your body needs a lot of it! It’s right up there with sodium, potassium, and calcium. It has numerous health benefits, which include but are not limited to: relieving headaches and migraines, treating anxiety, preventing asthma, reducing inflammation, increasing energy, and producing collagen.
Magnesium is needed for 600 metabolic functions, yet it is the second most common nutritional deficiency.
The correlation between magnesium and anxiety is so strong that researchers can intentionally induce anxiety in lab animals by depriving them of magnesium. So that funk you’ve been falling into may actually just be your magnesium deficiency. (And even if it isn’t, you can use that next time someone asks, what’s wrong?
It turns out the easiest way to increase your magnesium levels is through the skin. Luckily for us, you only need Epsom salt to create your own magnesium oil spray
MAGNESIUM OIL SPRAY INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup Epsom salt (or magnesium flakes)
1/2 cup distilled water
A glass bowl or glass measuring cup
MAGNESIUM OIL SPRAY INSTRUCTIONS
Boil the distilled water. It is important to use distilled to extend the shelf life of the mixture.
Place the salt or flakes in the glass bowl or measuring cup and then pour the boiling water over it.
Stir well until completely dissolved. Let cool completely and store in the spray bottle. Can be stored at room temperature for at least six months.
You can also add essential oils like lavender to the mixture for an extra hint of relaxation.
MAGNESIUM OIL USES
